Please make a backup of your registry before using this program in case anything goes wrong after using it.
Windows 95/98/ME Backup:
·Open Explorer or My Computer and go to your Windows root directory. Typically this would be c:\Windows.
·Click the View menu item and choose Options. Make sure the checkbox for Show all file types is checked. The checkbox for Hide MSDOS file extensions should also be unchecked.
·Locate the 2 files system.dat and user.dat in the Windows root directory and copy then to another existing directory. (E.g. copy c:\windows\system.dat c:\backup)
Windows 95/98/ME Restore:
·Reboot your system in MS-DOS mode
·At the DOS prompt, move to your Windows root directory. (E.g. cd c:\windows)
·Type: attrib -h -s -r system.dat
·Type: attrib -h -s -r user.dat
·Now copy the two files system.dat and user.dat from where you copied them to the Windows root directory, overwriting the existing files. (E.g. copy c:\backup\system.dat c:\windows)
·Type: attrib +h +s +r system.dat
·Type: attrib +h +s +r user.dat
·Reboot your system

How do I use the reg files?
(If you installed previous version of System Optimize, please remerge the reg files.)
1. Extract all the files to a folder.
2. Go to the folder where you have put the files.
3. Double click the registry files that you wish to optimize. (If you get error, right click reg file and click on Merge.)
4. Click o.k. when asked if allowed changing some settings.
5. Restart computer.
